Tournament Location
The Forchheim Chess Open will be held in the Jahn-Halle (Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Str. 10, 91301 Forchheim, not far away from the city centre).

Tournament Mode
NEW: The player shall lose the game if he arrives at the
chessboard more than 30 minutes after the beginning of the round
The Open will consist of 5 rounds, based on the Swiss System tournament rules with accelerated pairings (FIDE rules). There is a time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game plus 30 seconds per move (beginning with the first move): Notation is required up to the end of the game. There will be an ELO and DWZ evaluation!

No double awards! Awardees who are not present at the award ceremony lose their right of award! Players without any official DWZ rating will not be awarded!
Juvenile players are considered as such with their year of birth starting from 1992 (U18 – 1992 / U16 – 1994 / U14 – 1996 / U12 - 1998 / U10 - 2000); senior players until 1950.
Rating awards and special awards will only be distributed with a minimum of 5 participants per rating group. The best resident player is considered to be a player with registered residence in Forchheim, or is to be a registered member of the chess club of Forchheim.
Ranking
NEW: In case of a tie the opponent rating and a victory evaluation will be decisive.

Entry Fee
A-Open: Adults € 30, Juveniles € 20 (after September 15th 2010, resp. payment on tournament day € 40/30; GM/IM are free of charge, if registered by September 15th 2010; afterwards an entry fee of € 10 will be charged).
B-Open: Adults € 25, Juveniles € 15; (after September 15th 2009, resp. payment on tournament day € 35/25).

Attention
There is an absolute smoking ban in the tournament room. Mobile phones are to be turned off in the tournament room. The use of electronic aids in the course of the game will cause an immediate tournament disqualification.
