README Jonny 4.00, 10-07-2010 Copyright 2010 by Johannes Zwanzger 0. Disclaimer of Warranty 1. What is "Jonny"? 2. Installation 3. Thanks to... 0. Disclaimer of Warranty Although "Jonny" is well tested software, I donīt give any warranty that it will do what you expect it to do; furthermore I donīt take responsi- bility for any damage caused by the use of the program. 1. What is "Jonny"? "Jonny" is a freeware chess-engine for Windows. A condition for its redi- stribution is that this readme file is attached without any changes. Although "Jonny" can be operated on the command line, I highly recommend the use of a graphical interface. As a UCI-engine, Jonny can be used with all interfaces supporting the UCI-protocol (e.g. Fritz, Shredder, Arena). 2. Installation The way how a UCI engine is installed depends from your graphical user interface (GUI). Usually you find a menu item which is called something like "Install UCI engine". After you click on it a file dialog box should open where you have to choose the Jonny executable ("JonnyXYZ.exe", where XYZ are numbers indicating the version). Now "Jonny" can be used like any other engine within your GUI. 3. Thanks to... - Eugene Nalimov und Andrew Kadatch for the tablebase code and their permission to use it in "Jonny" - Mark Roberts who did Jonnyīs opening book in the last two WCCCs - Stefan Meyer-Kahlen and Rudolf Huber for the well designed UCI protocol - all other persons who helped me during the last 8 years with the developement of Jonny Kirchehrenbach, Oktober 7th 2010 Johannes Zwanzger (email: johNanOnes.zSwaPnzAger@gmMx.de ;remove NOSPAM)
